Employer Solutions to the Opioid Public Health Crisis (ESOPHC) Program and Trainer Course
This trainer course will teach you how to deliver the program within your community(ies). To earn trainer designation, individuals complete one or more pre-requisite courses and program training via the web. Materials provided via the Trainer Resource Center allows program delivery via on site or webinar settings.
The Employer Solutions to the Opioid Public Health Trainer Course provides an understanding of the Opioid Public Health Crisis and the employer's role to reduce the effects of the health crisis.
Addiction / Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) are a major public health concern in the United States. Nearly 20 million Americans 12 years of age or older have an active disorder.
More than 10 million Americans reported non-medical use of prescription opioids. Opioid misuse carries an elevated risk of addiction, overdose and death. Drug overdoses represented the leading cause of accidental death in the United States in 2017, with approximately 47,000 deaths attributed to opioids (includes prescription pain medication, heroin, fentanyl), representing more than 68% of all overdose deaths. This opioid public health crisis is affecting every county in our state, straining workforce readiness, and impacting economic factors and health and wellness.
A healthy workforce is a productive workforce — able to grow and meet market opportunities with their employers.
During this course you will learn of the multi-faceted solutions model that states and communities are applying to reduce the effects of the health crisis. As well as, define the role of the employer in this health crisis and the steps employers can take to reduce the effects.
What You Will Learn
The program materials available for download from the Presenter Resource Center include: Presentation Powerpoint with Presenter Notes and Script, Management Key Takeaways and Implementation Toolset, Employee - Quick Reference Sheet(s), Attendee Feedback Survey, and Certificate of Completion.
Successful completion of “The Brain and the Disease of Addiction” ($15), Removing the Shame and Stigma of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) /Addiction" ($35) are pre-requisites for being trained to deliver the program. These pre-requisite courses includes a "Certificate of Completion" delivered upon achievement of 80% minimum passing grade on the final exam.
