First Responder Naloxone Program and Trainer Course
First Responder Naloxone Trainer Course will teach you how to train departments and staff on how to respond to an opioid overdose and administer naloxone.
The First Responder Naloxone Program and Trainer Course is for individuals who are responsible for training law enforcement, fire departments and other first responder groups and organizations.
What You Will Learn
You will acquire a foundational understanding of the opioid public health crisis and the overdose epidemic. You will learn how to train individuals to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and how to administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone (brand name NARCAN).
The program materials available for download from the Presenter Resource Center include: Presentation Powerpoint with Presenter Notes and Sample Department Protocol.
Successful completion of “The Brain and the Disease of Addiction” is a pre-requisite for being trained to deliver the First Responder Naloxone training.
Certificate of Completion
This course includes a "Certificate of Completion" delivered upon achievement of 80% minimum passing grade on the final exam.

- Pre-Requisite: The Brain and the Disease of Addiction online training course with certificate of completion – $15/person
- Training: First Responder Naloxone Trainer Course with certificate of completion. $150/trainer
- Course Kit: $30/trainer (Printed course materials, 50 pages)
- Program Access: $400/year (Provides access for one or more trainers within a department to use the materials)
